Almogran and its active ingredient almotriptan belong to the class of compounds called selective serotonin receptor agonists. Migraines are believed to cause an inflammatory response and Almogran reduces this response by binding to the serotonin receptors in the brain’s blood vessels. This causes the blood vessels to narrow.
