Most people have experienced pimples or acne at one point in their life. A very common skin condition is acne (medical name acne vulgaris). With the visible rash on the skin this is not a pleasant condition to have. Acne is an inflammation of skin around the sebaceous glands. Although it mainly occurs on the face it can also appear on other parts of the body.
Acne is caused by an overproduction of sebum due to hormonal changes (usually experienced during puberty). The overproduction of sebum causes the sebaceous to clog which eventually result in blackheads. These blackheads block the sebaceous glands making them burst eventually. Once infected they become acne. Symptoms of acne is the highly visible rash on the skin.
How can acne be treated?
A good diet and good skin hygiene can prevent acne. However once acne is experienced different creams, medicines and lotions can be used as well.
