What is gonorrhoea?
Women are usually unaware they have gonorrhoea but might experience pain or discomfort around the vagina or with urinating. Men may have white, yellow or green discharge from the penis when infected with gonorrhoea. Gonorrhoea is an STI which can be successfully treated but can have serious consequences when left untreated, such as infertility.
How does gonorrhoea treatment work?
Cefixim kills bacteria by interfering with its ability to form the bonds that keep the cell together. Therefore the bacteria cannot form cell walls and the cell becomes vulnerable and will eventually die.
Azithromycin prevents the cells from performing important internal cellular functions. By inhibiting these functions it prevents the growth and multiplication of bacterial cells, causing the cells to die off and the infection to cease.
Can I use the gonorrhoea treatment?
When you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you may not use gonorrhoea treatment. People who suffer from diabetes should also not use these medications, nor should people suffering from liver or kidney disease. These antibiotics might interact with other conditions or medications so please make sure to extensively fill out the medical questionnaire when you order the gonorrhoea treatment pack.
